The encounter: I talked to Loubna when I checked into the Faouzi Azar Hostel, where I spent a weekend with some friends.
What is your occupation?
I studied social work at the Hebrew University and worked for thirteen years as a social worker here in Nazareth, but I quit. Now, I work as a receptionist here and I guide tours of Nazareth that highlight the art and cultural life of the city. I’m also a poet. I publish poetry in the local newspapers and I have published two books: Steps and Here is My Land, both in Arabic. One was published in Ramallah and one in Haifa. My favorite poets are Pablo Neruda and Mahmud Darwish.
